The City That Never Sleeps

Hey there! I just so feel like typing out of the blue. Haha! Oh well, I've just gotten back all my results today. Gosh, I feel really disappointed with myself. Guess what? I did so badly for my Mathematics paper 1, just like what Mr Lock has said. I passed paper two though. But it's just border line marks. =(

I'm really dissatisfied with my results. Next was English composition and comprehension papers. For English compo, there isn't any marks stated there, however, I've got a B- for it and as for my formal letter writing, the comment was satisfactory. Hmm, Miss How says I need to improve on my grammatical errors and my vocabulary was okay. As for my comprehension paper, again, I need another 5 more marks to pass! ='( This time round, it's my summary which has helped to pull my marks up. Miss How says I answered the questions too ambiguously. What should I do to improve on my english and mathematics? One way is to go for tuition and the second choice I'm left with is to buy my own assessment books to practise at home. Anyway, I just need to study everyday.

Next was POA. Hmm, I've gotten myself a distinction for it. :D I could have scored higher though. Careless mistake! >:(
Anyway it's okay as long as I've gotten an 'A' for it. Am already contented enough. Haha! Hmm, surprisingly, I passed my chemistry! And it helps me to pull up my score for combined bio/chem. I failed my biology. Alright, I just don't know why. I chose to take Biology in the first place is because I like this subject, not to say I like, I should say well, I just prefer Bio to Physics. But now I've somehow regretted taking it. And the subject I've been abhoring the most - Chemistry! I actually passed this subject and I guess I'm now slowly developing interest in it. I guess some of my friends may think that I'm really a weirdo. Yes I am. For instance, many people who took combined bio/chem passed their Bio but they failed their Chemistry. Also, people say normally they can score better in Mathematics paper 1, but I, am always the opposite of them. Usually it's my paper 2 which will help to pull up my marks.
Ain't I weird? =/

I didn't do well in my humanities as well. For Geography, upon 50 marks, my target was actually 30 and above. Again, I was down with disappointment. I've only gotten a pathetic 28 out of 50 in total. Guess what? I've scored well for the portion of Natural vegetation okay, but it's the stupid Rivers topic which pulled down my score a lot. Out of 25, I only scored 7 for it! Natural vegetation, oh well, I think I could have done better as well although I've already scored a 21 out of 25.

Social studies - Oh well, expected. 29/50. It's the structured-essay questions that helped me pass. Hmm, but I've to admit that I'm also quite lucky at times. You know, I just wrote a sentence, nope, instead it's just a phrase that was less than 7 words for one of the source-based question, and I've got a L5/6 for this! What is this man? Haha, but it's okay la since it helps me to score. =P

Hmm, heard from others that if I failed English, I need to pass other relevant 5 subjects. So for this SA1, let's take it as I've flunked my English(touchwood), but since I've passed the other 5 relevant subjects, which means I still can be promoted to Sec 4 Express?
Anyway, no matter what I still got to work hard to improve my English and Mathematics.
